Dnata’s Corporate Communications Soar with Signagelive and Red Dot Digital Media

Dnata, one of the world’s largest air services providers, has taken its corporate communications to new heights, with a new digital signage solution from Red Dot Digital Media and Signagelive. Leveraging the expertise of both Red Dot Digital Media, a leading speciality integrator, and Signagelive, a world-class digital signage software provider, dnata has streamlined its internal communications, with the setup of a vast digital signage network. Spanning two hundred screens across sixteen countries, the network has effectively bridged the company’s communication gaps, enabling dnata to reliably and inclusively deliver real-time messaging to all employees in every area of the business.

The Communications Challenge

The project was launched in 2023, when dnata made the decision to overhaul its existing internal communications. With so many deskless workers dispersed across a vast number of diverse locations and countries, the company struggled to effectively communicate with everyone. To tackle the challenge, dnata turned to Red Dot Digital Media, a trusted partner that had already successfully rolled out a digital signage project for the company in thirty-six locations in the United States.

Signagelive Digital Signage Software

An expert in the digital signage space, Red Dot Digital Media selected content management system (CMS), Signagelive for the project, pairing it with BrightSign XD235 Media Players to manage the entirety of dnata’s corporate messaging. A transformative yet cost-efficient and time-saving software solution, Signagelive has enabled dnata to centralise its communications, and remotely deliver messaging across every business location. Content can now be scheduled weeks in advance, or uploaded immediately to one, some or all the screens in the network.

As Signagelive was successfully deployed for dnata in the United States, the software offered further cost efficiencies and time-savings. Dnata could, for example, make use of existing content templates, which only needed to be adapted for other regions. Using Signagelive features, such as its Multizone Layouts, two further master screen layouts have been created, with dedicated zones for marketing and HR. This has helped to diversify the on-screen content, ensuring that updates can be shared from multiple business departments.

To boost staff engagement, an on-screen custom content ticker has also been created, streaming live content to keep the on-screen messaging fresh.

The screen layouts have provided further opportunity to customise and localise content, enabling the addition of dnata branding, such as logos and other collateral, as well as the date and local time.

Red Dot Digital Media

As dnata’s digital signage network encompassed so many regions, including the Middle East, South and North America, Europe and Asia, the project depended on Red Dot Digital Media’s considerable logistics expertise. Many of the countries involved, such as Brazil, Pakistan, Iraq and Zanzibar have their own unique shipping-related issues and customs regulations, which added layers of complexity to this time-sensitive project. However, Red Dot Digital Media was able to draw on its extensive global experience to ensure the swift and timely deployment of the network. The integration process was further streamlined by Red Dot Digital Media’s decision to work directly with local IT specialists, which saved hours of remote trouble-shooting.
