Baptist Health Care Transforms Patient, Visitor and Staff Communication with Aceso and Signagelive

Aceso has partnered with Signagelive to digitally transform Baptist Health Care, a leading not-for-profit health system in Pensacola, Florida. By combining Aceso’s extensive healthcare IT experience with Signagelive’s powerful digital signage platform, Baptist Health deployed a cutting-edge digital signage network that enhances communication, supports donors, and improves the patient and staff experience.

With 35 screens and a massive LED video wall, this multi-department, multi-user digital signage solution has enhanced communication, engaging and informing more staff and patients. Most notably, the solution has boosted donor recognition, and as a result, the number of donations – all while streamlining the content management process from a single platform.

Signagelive-Powered Digital Signage Solution

When Baptist Health Care decided to upgrade its hospital and medical campus, they tapped Aceso to elevate its digital communications. This entailed building a digital signage system capable of supporting an ambitious, multi-department communications strategy to better connect with patients, staff, and donors. According to Michel Perreault, Aceso Director of Product and Digital Signage, Signagelive was the ideal content management system (CMS) to drive the project. Since its launch in September 2023, Signagelive has expanded the organization’s impact and reach, allowing for the seamless support of different digital communication goals from a single platform.

Multi-Goal Digital Signage

With Signagelive, different levels of user access and editing permissions can now be assigned, enabling multiple departments to each contribute and add value to the content schedule.

Features like Local Users let teams access Local Playlists—specific sections of the main playlist assigned to certain or all displays. This streamlines workflows, allowing teams to manage content for different audiences without stepping on each other’s toes or messing with established branding.

Administrators can still oversee a cohesive, cross-department content lineup by controlling campaign schedules and providing dedicated slots for each contributor.

With Signagelive, Baptist Health Care has been able to manage different digital signage use cases via separate teams and departments.

Marketing Communications

The marketing communications team now delivers promotional messages in waiting rooms, conference centers, and on the donor wall with ease.

Dynamic Cafeteria Menu Management

Through Signagelive, another team can automate updates to the cafeteria menu boards using remotely editable templates. And manual menu changes are now easy to make from any location, enabling staff to keep up with pricing changes, daily specials and menu option updates.

Team members can:

  • Deliver targeted or generic content in one or all display areas
  • Remotely update campaigns
  • Edit live content

Administrators also have the ability to:

  •  Select the start and end time of campaigns, so content is automatically removed when its run time is over
  • Grant various levels of editing rights to teams
  • Add brand style and mandatory messaging to each of the local playlist templates

Transformative Donor LED Wall

The standout feature is Signagelive’s integration with a massive 24-by-6.5-foot donor LED wall, which has inspired more giving by showcasing promotional and donor recognition content. Displaying donor names prominently has prompted new donors to step forward after seeing the wall.

Finally, the use of Signagelive with a massive 24-by-6.5-foot donor LED wall, has inspired more giving by showcasing promotional and donor recognition messaging. The prominent display of donor names, in particular, has prompted new donors to reach out after seeing the wall.

The Signagelive-Powered Donor Wall Solution

The wall’s unique accordion-style, concertina design allows for the simultaneous display of two different promotional and donor campaigns, each visible as viewers walk from either direction — north or south.

Signagelive simplifies content delivery, a process that would otherwise require juggling two separate content sets across alternate screens. Marketing and foundation teams only need to upload playlists with the correct display resolutions, and the rest is automated. The Nanolumens Display Interface Unit (DIU) splits and maps the two content streams, which are then delivered to every alternate screen via the NovaStar controller.

Aceso’s integrated solution has already achieved industry recognition, having become a top five Digital Signage Experience (DSE) Awards Finalist in the category of healthcare environments in 2024.
