Questions and answers (Q&A)
-
Can you tell us a little about your professional background?
I’m very fortunate to have worked for many years in the Education sector for companies like Airtame, and large school districts and universities across the American West. I’ve had a year off from education, but I’m excited to get back on that circuit and see some familiar faces and some familiar places. Although I have worked predominantly on the hardware side, I followed the development of software very closely, as often, the software itself ends up being integrated into devices. I’m also a keen techie, so I just love technology. I always thought it would be great to work with a cool software company, and now I have a great opportunity to do so.
-
How do you plan to approach your role?
I plan to visit universities and school districts around the country and find out what they’re doing, what they’d like to do in the future, and what role Signagelive could fundamentally play in helping them to fulfil their goals. I think it’s important for me to understand the trends that matter to them, and how we can help overcome some of the challenges they face. I’ll be reaching out and reconnecting with old customers, but I hope to speak to many new ones too. I’m also excited to start reaching out to state and local offices, and departments to find out where Signagelive could be a good fit.
-
Will you also engage with the channel?
Definitely, yes. This is also important. I’m looking forward to having some conversations with big national partners. They’re great for visibility and exposure of a product like Signagelive. Developing strong collaborative working relationships with regional partners is always valuable, as they have incredible insights into the local economies and decision-making requirements that have to be considered for customers.
-
Which trade shows will you be attending?
Well, I’ll be at ISTE Live 24, a big ed tech conference in Colorado on June 24th. I’ll also be attending InfoComm on June 12th-14th, so I’m really looking forward to getting back to Vegas, and meeting the team, as well as customers, who’ll be out there!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
My big hobby outside work is disc golf or frisbee golf. When I’m travelling for work, I always take my discs and hit the links. If anyone wants to know more about disc golf or slamming the chains, I’m always happy to take things offline and share what I know! It’s a great game. You can play all eighteen holes with one disc, or you can get to a point where you’ve got a bag that rivals the size of the one Tiger Woods carries! For specific types of throws and weather, it can get pretty complex!
