Signagelive enhances support for IAdea SMIL open standard digital signage players and signboards
Signagelive unlocks full potential of IAdea devices for resellers at Integrated Systems Europe, 4-6 February
Signagelive, global suppliers of cloud-based digital signage technology, has enhanced its SMIL open standard support capabilities, (developed for IAdea devices and signboards) to include a number of advanced functionalities. These comprise multi-zoning capabilities, sophisticated media scheduling, content notifications, device diagnostics, interrupts, interactivity and conditional playback services.
Signagelive’s support of embedded media player technologies, initially developed to support the Samsung Smart Signage Platform demonstrates the company’s commitment to the post PC digital signage market.
The company’s cloud-based software integrates seamlessly with a broad range of digital signage devices including Android media players developed by Dension, Aperture Raspberry Pi technology from Silver Curve and Nexcom’s B842 video wall controller..Signagelive’s digital signage applications will be on display on booth number 8-L170 (in Hall 8) at Integrated Systems Europe, the RAI, Amsterdam, 4-6 February 2014.
IAdea’s Android-based media players and signboards are the most recent non-PC devices to be powered by Signagelive’s cross-platform digital signage software. Signagelive and IAdea have worked in close partnership for a number of years and together they have won several projects serving large networks run by well-known brand franchise groups.
The new range of W3C SMIL open standard Android devices, powered by Signagelive, offer digital signage capabilities comparable to PC media players but at a fraction of the cost. They comprise no moving parts, minimizing the need for support and can be quickly scaled up to meet end-user requirements.
Signagelive software provides full support for different content formats including static images, video, HDMI input, IPTV, web pages, RSS feeds and integrates with QR code technology and all common social media widgets. Its cross-platform support capabilities are expected to make digital signage technology accessible for wide-scale commercial use by all market sectors including South East Asia where IAdea has an established reseller network.
Says Jason Cremins, CEO of Signagelive;
“ We decided the time was right to enhance our support for IAdea’s implementation of SMIL on its Android players and signboards. IAdea has tremendous market penetration and the ability to provide global service and logistics support, which is key to global-scale project rollouts. We leveraged our experience gained from developing SoC-compatible software for Samsung’s Smart Signage Platform to help achieve this.”
Says John Wang of IAdea;
“Signagelive has been a pioneer in the post-PC digital signage market and has incorporated a wealth of advanced functionality into its core software platform. Its new support features put the IAdea-Signagelive combo on-par with PC based devices in terms of functionality and I believe these advances will drive a new wave of demand for Post-PC digital signage technology.”
